WHITE MARSH COLONIAL
WHITE MARSH, MARYLAND
2024

The backdrop of this home, a generous 4232 square foot house, introduces and embraces a collected design style, layering pattern and texture across joyful and inviting furniture silhouettes that compliment each room. The goal with such an expansive home is to develop individualized spaces, that feel both cozy and generous — each space allowing for a multiplicity of experiences for any one member of the house. Living amongst numerous spaces with a variety of functions, we felt it was important for each room to embrace its own sense of character, while remaining very much in conversation with other rooms in the home. The goal for this home was to feel accessible, utilizing furnishings from well-known vendors, while ensuring that the additional design details felt thoughtful and personal. From rooms fully wrapped in wallpaper to deep, saturated color, to natural and organic materials, we designed this home to be inviting from all entry points, timeless as it’s main vibe and lived-in without losing it’s sense of freshness and novelty. Standing apart from other homes with similar architectural characteristics and neutral palettes, this home was designed to leave a lasting impression, with bold choices that aren’t afraid to have a perspective and a more specific aesthetic.

As you move from room to room, we created memory points throughout your path in the house. The furniture plan and layout incorporates tried and true space planning and at the same time challenges you to envision the space in a new way. Seeing the corner of a beautifully upholstered piece from another room, or the lead in of a distinct silhouette accomplishes the same thing as a well framed photo — inviting the feeling that the beauty of the home continues beyond what you can see.
